A list of things to take to the hospital

For Mom:

  • 1-2 pajamas and a robe
  • House slippers
  • 1 supportive nursing bra
  • Disposable postpartum underwear (minimum 5 panties)
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and tissues
  • Any other toiletries or cosmetics that you may personally need
  • Large sanitary postpartum pads - a couple packs
  • 1 pillow
  • Notepad, pen


For the baby:

  • 1 pack of diapers in the smallest size.
  • Diaper rash cream / Vaseline
  • Baby wet wipes
  • 3 - 4 cushions
  • 3 - 4 bodysuits
  • 1 discharge blanket
  • Dress for discharge according to the weather

   
What not to take:


Jewelry, other valuables, credit cards or lots of money

A list of necessary items for your baby:

  • Raspashonka cotton thin: 4-6 pieces.
  • Raspashonka flannel plain: 4 pieces.
  • Raspashonka flannel with sewn sleeves: 2 pieces.
  • Diapers size S
  • Crawlers: 4 pieces
  • Thin bonnet: 2 pieces
  • Knit cap: 2 pieces
  • Booties or socks: 2 pairs
  • Flannel diaper 120x90 cm: 5 pieces
  • Oilcloth 80x80 cm:1 piece
  • Waterproof mattress cover
  • Woolen blanket (summer):1 piece.
  • A cocoon for newborns
  • At least two thermometers: one to measure the baby's body temperature (if necessary) and one to measure the temperature of the bathing water. You can buy two more: one to measure the temperature of the air in the room where the baby sleeps; one to measure the temperature of the air outside the window
  • Small scissors with blunt ends
  • Baby's special comb
  • Cotton swabs with stopper (for cleaning ears and nose)
  • Nasal aspirator.
