Recommendations for the return flight

Studies by pediatric neonatologists suggest that a healthy baby can easily adapt to a decrease in atmospheric pressure without health risks, i.e. a newborn can fly in an airplane from the first days of life.

However, many airlines set a minimum age for carrying newborn babies on an airplane, usually the baby must be at least a week old (7 days old). Some do not allow flying with children under 15 days old. We recommend flying when the baby is at least 1.5-2 months old. During this time, the baby will adapt to the environment and become stronger for such a long journey.

As a rule, airlines provide a free flight for children from 0 to 2 years old, but in this case he is not provided with a seat. We recommend to book a carrycot in advance for transportation of newborn babies, many airlines will provide you with it for the duration of the flight absolutely free of charge. However, not all airlines offer this option.

You can bring a car seat with you to transport your infant. In this case, you will need to buy a separate ticket for the baby. However, you will be given an excellent discount (from 30 to 70%, depending on the airline) Even if you do not book a separate seat for the baby, you are entitled to take up to 10 kg of hand luggage just for the baby. You can also take a stroller and a car seat in your baggage, the weight of these items is not included in the total weight of your baggage.

During takeoff and landing, to relieve your baby's ear stuffiness, give your baby a pacifier, water, or breastfeed if your baby is naturally breastfed.

Upon return to Russia, within 2 months after arrival, you must notify the second citizenship.
