What is the basis for your baby's citizenship?

Did you know. In Canada, Canadian-born children are automatically granted citizenship by birthright!

Under the principle of jus soli, or "law of the soil", any child born in Canada automatically becomes a Canadian citizen, regardless of the nationality or status of his or her parents. This means that every newborn baby welcomed into the world on Canadian territory is entitled to the full rights and privileges of Canadian citizenship from the moment of birth.

So whether your baby is born amidst the snowy mountains of British Columbia, the picturesque cityscape of Toronto, or the tranquil landscapes of Nova Scotia, he or she will be proudly welcomed as a Canadian citizen!
